Fairfield 19U Legion defeated the Greenwich Cannons 5-4 on Tuesday evening at Kiwanis Field in Fairfield.

Greenwich got on the board in the top of the second on Tyler Cusimano's RBI ground out to first base.

Fairfield came back to tie the game in the bottom half of the inning. Luke Anderson and Tim Donahue each singled to put runners at the corners with none out.

Two batters later, after a strikeout, Aidan Gouley laced a single to left field to bring in Anderson and tie the game at one.

An inning later, Fairfield took the lead. Matt Vivona led off with a double. Charlie Swanson then reached on a bunt single and Vivona moved to third.

Jack Corcoran then came up and hit a ground ball to short that was thrown away attempting to get the force at second. Vivona scored and Swanson and Corcoran were on base.

Two batters later, with the bases loaded, Anderson was hit by a pitch to force in a run.

Donahue then hit a ground ball to shortstop that was misplayed allowing two runs to come in and score to put Fairfield ahead 5-1.
